This female-owned distillery in Mexico is dedicated to producing quality tequila on their entirely sustainable family farm. To bring the product to life, the goal was to create a brand that stayed true to the product’s roots, followed their sustainability mission, and abided by governmental liquor label requirements, all without sacrificing the visual appeal. A fresh, enticing brand was created that met all these requirements while still appealing to their target market.
Through custom hand-drawn illustrations, the bottles are adorned with native flowers and agave plants that grow on the farm to highlight the flowery, smooth taste of the tequila. The sustainability mission was continued through the material choice in the eco-friendly labels and packaging. A note from the master distiller is on the back of the bottles to keep her story close to the consumer.
THE INSPIRATION & SKETCHES
Photos of the distillery’s land were referenced to build the color palette and choose elements to be featured on the bottle. Textured, hand-drawn flowers that almost look like they’re made of cut paper inspired the illustration style. Organic, natural forms were favored, balanced out by clean typography and white space on the labels.
